FSSC 22000

The FSSC 22000 standard is a worthy alternative for BRCGS or IFS certification and
is also recognized by GFSI.

The FSSC 22000 is composed of a combination of the
ISO 22000 norm and the Technical Standard 22002-1:

  • The ISO 22000 imposes requirements on a management system for food safety
focused on all links in the food chain.
  • The Technical Standard imposes requirements
on the prerequisites program regarding food safety.

This norm for management systems combines ‘the best of both worlds’: specific food
safety conditions based on the basic hygiene conditions and the HACCP standard of
the Codex Alimentarius, and an effective management of the management
measures based on the quality management standard ISO 9001.

This way ISO 22000 meets the international demand for a certifiable norm combining those
prerequisites and HACCP and management elements into an efficient management
system norm for food safety.

advantages of FSSC certification

  • Globally accepted.

  • FSSC 22000 takes chain thinking as the main
    starting point.
  • FSSC puts a lot of emphasis on the internal risk analysis, this way
    making possible a pragmatic application.
