Whitepaper: Regulation 2023/1115 as a response to the fight against deforestation and forest degradation

Between 1990 and 2020, as much as 420 million hectares of forest were cut down or degraded worldwide, according to an estimate by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The consumption of raw materials such as cattle, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, soy and timber within the European Union is a major cause of this. A growing problem that therefore urgently needs to be addressed.
